Jiuxiang Hongmei with osmanthus is one of the 'Two Delicacies of Hangzhou', capturing the freshness of West Lake's autumn osmanthus and the mellow smoothness of Jiuxiang Hongmei in a single cup. In autumn 2025, tea artisans selected first flushes of one bud and one leaf from old Cong bushes in Jiuxiang low-altitude tea gardens (200–400 m), harvested before the Qingming Festival, to craft the black tea base. Around the Autumn Equinox, the tea was scented three times and topped once with fresh 'Golden Osmanthus' flowers at the initial blooming stage under low-temperature conditions for 72 hours to lock in fragrance. GC-MS analysis revealed that the synergistic content of linalool, γ-decalactone, and osmanthus volatile phenethyl alcohol in the tea infusion reached 1.31 mg/g, creating a layered aromatic profile with 'osmanthus fragrance hitting the palate upfront and rose-honey sweetness in the afternote'. The tea contains 21.3% polyphenols, 3.9% amino acids, with a polyphenol-to-amino-acid ratio of 5.5, ensuring a sweet, smooth, and refreshing taste. Tea theaflavins are at 1.11%, and thearubigins at 9.8% (GB/T 30483). The tea liquor is bright and orange-red in color. Caffeine levels are 28 mg/200 ml, offering a gentle stimulant effect; the water extractives reach 45%, allowing the tea to remain fragrant through 6–7 infusions with lingering osmanthus notes. Double-sealed in aluminum foil bag and tin canister, the tea maintains stable aroma for 18 months under normal temperature and light-protected storage conditions. SGS tested for 500 pesticide residues, all non-detectable, with full traceability via SC certification code. A single cup of Jiuxiang Hongmei brings the autumn night of West Lake blooming slowly on your palate.
